Hi,
I had taken oversees travel insurance plan for my parents till Sep 2009. During their visit my father had consulted a doctor for some minor injury here in US and paid $250 as office visit. As per thr policy my office visit deductible was $100 but when I applied for reimbursement of $150 upon their landing in India with all proof, they are not ready to give me back my money with all sort of non-sence reasons. So I never recommend anybody to take ICICI lombard in future.

Thanks,
Mukesh Agrawal

I took a travel insurance policy number FE861869 on 4th Sept 2009 for my trip to Canada which was for 13 days from 14 Sept 2009 to 26 Sept 2009.
This was taken through Birla Insurance Advisory & Broking Services Lts, New Delhi

Due to unavoidable circumstances my journey was cancelled and the same was informed to the agency.
Thereafter I was told to send the copies of my passport. I sent copies of the first two and last two pages of my passport as well as the one on which the Canada Visa had been stamped.

I have not yet received the refund and am now being told to submit copies of all the pages of my passport including the blank ones.

This is highly objectionable as it breaches my privacy. The said policy has no relevance with my other travels nor with the blank pages. I have been travelling frequently and taking policies from various companies. This is the first time that such a thing is being asked for.

It is not expected from a company of Tata's stature to resort to such tricks to delay refund.

There are primarily two types of visitors insurance plans.

Fixed: Cheaper, limited coverage
Comprehensive: Better, more expensive
Details at http://www.insubuy.com/guide/visitors-insurance-types.jsp

I suggest that you visit our web site at http://www.insubuy.com and enter your criteria. You will see various plans from different companies. You can compare them side by side and decide the best one for your needs.

Deductible: The amount you will have to pay (even for Dr Visit) before the insurance plan pays anything at all.

If you have any other specific questions, please post them here or contact us at any time at (866) INSU-BUY.

As both of those plan starts from 12.01 AM Eastern US time on the day you specify, keeping the time zone difference in mind, you will have to make the effective date one day in advance of the travel date to cover during the travel time as well.
