Unable to provide Notarized Letter from the guardian as proof of Child Support for N-400 Application
Hello everyone, I hope some of you will give your thoughts and opinions regarding my concern.

My husband had his citizenship interviewed and the officer mailed him the N-14.
Under the child support, he was asked to provide a notarized letter from the child's guardian that he is sending financial support and the amount. But, he did not have it. The mother of the child tell to the guardian (grand mother) not to give him any. :(

But, the good thing is, from pregnancy until last month, for 10 years, he has all his copy of remittance receipts, received by the mother of the child and the grandmother of the child, who is now the guardian, since the mother left and back here in the US. We also attached all the text messages from the guardian asking money for his child. Also, we attached the copy of text messages from western union that the money was picked up. We also, attached an explanation letter why he was unable to provide it because the mother of the child say No, despite it is shows he is sending money for 10 years! the mother was upset because at the very beginning, they don't have a real, serious and deep relationship with my husband. Yes he got her pregnant but, he did not turn his back to support them.

So it appears that the mother has something personal issue with my husband, and she wants to sabotage his citizenship. My husband was so upset because he did not expecting they are acting like this despite that he did his part for financial support. The mother of the child was mad when she found out that he was married. More likely, she was mad that my husband did not pursue her and just focus to their child instead.

My husband was not in the birth certificate. The child was born in carribean. My husband was here ever since since he's been working. Though he visited the child once. They are not or were married. So, legally, as per law, he does not have any legal rights to the child in any form, including child support. But he love the child too much and dream that one day he'll be with her and catch up with her, he always put the child names under household of dependent. One of the reason why the mother of the child tell to the guardian of the child, which is the grand mother not to give my husband the notarized letter is because she thinks that once my husband gets his citizenship, he will take the child with him here in the USA. But, he only wants to get his child a tourist visa when the child reaches teens, so he could spend some time with his kid and show the kid around.

Since my husband was unable to provide the notarized letter, we came up to alternative documents to prove his child support to his child. We attached an explanation letter, explaining why he was unable to provide it that despite his efforts and tried so hard, still they did not give it to him because of personal issues from the mother of the child. We attached all the text messages from western union that the money has picked up by the guardian. All text messages from the guardian asking fro money. And, all the copy of remittance receipts for 10 years, from during pregnancy until last month. The receiver was the mother during the first years, but when she left the country where the child was born, it was the grand mother who took over and serve as a guardian to the child and became the receiver of remittances.

The additional documents was already send back 2 weeks after we received the N-14, 2 weeks early before the deadline of submission.

What do you guys think? Will he still get merits for Approval? Despite that he was unable to provide the notarized letter, it will show from the documents he submitted all the proof that he is sending money for 10 years. Please give your thoughts and opinions, please!

Thank you. Your replies is very much appreciated. God bless!
