Experience -i145 -Case Approved -Married To USC -DACA *LA FIELD
Hi everyone.

I been a silent reader for almost 2 years now. I’m grateful I was able to find this forum, experiences and all questions asked here really helped me a lot thru this process.

On this ocasion, I will not provide dates of when each application was submitted/processed as I do not recall them and unfortunately I don’t have them handy either. It all started back in February of 2015 when after consulting different immigration sources and after reading testimonies on this forum that myself and my husband(USC -Petitioner) decided to apply for advance parole to travel outside of the USA so that I could re-enter the country legally and have a legal entry that eventually could help me adjust my status. We opted to take this path as after carefully examining both options, staring it thru my husband or starting it thru Daca, we decided that advance parole was the best option for us. At first, we were insecure about applying for it as we heard so many stories that advance parole could not guarantee me to re-enter the USA, however after carefully readying each and every testimony here it then was when we got courage and did it. Our trip to Mexico was successful and everything went exactly as the posts said.

As soon as we got back from Mexico on March 2017, we applied for I130 and I145. I received EAD fairly fast, a month and a half or so after applying for it. Of course, I went thru the fingerprints and background check process as required in order to optain EAD and GC. I will summarize a bit, almost 1yr passed and we did not hear anything from USCIS. We called them several times and pretty much got no answers as they said case was within processing time. Having not received an update yet, we decided to ask for an info pass, which we got it and went on July 2018. IO was really nice, she gave us a bit more info and told us we had already been put on the queue for interview and that we should hear from them within 30-60days. And we did, exactly 60 days after we had spoke to IO we got the interview letter. I would like to also share that in our case, the USCIS website did not accurately started updating until after we had the interview(10/17/18). We had our interview almost a month later after we got the letter. We prepared all the documents as requested on the interview letter and the final big day of the interview we got to the federal building 1hr early, although we were not taken in 20 mins prior the interview appointment. IO was polite and very nice, he asked me all the I145 questions from beginning to end and asked my husband several questions about how we met, where he works, who proposed and where, if we had kids, name of kids, for how long we been married, he also asked for evidence as for example, any documents that proved we live together. IO also ask if we had pictures, which we had brought with us a 200 photo album. He looked at the pics and while doing so he was asking questions regarding them. After proving all requested evidence and answering a good bit of questions, officer said that everything looked good BUT one thing, the medical was expired and that by law he couldn’t take it and that we were required to do a new one in order for him to make a decision. Interview lasted about 30mins and fortunately IO gave us new request for physical letter on the spot and advised to submit it ASAP so that a decision can be made. He concluded that nothing else was needed from us but the medical. The next day I went to do a new one and mailed it out a week later when I got the results. I overnight it and it wasn’t until 2 weeks later I got a text message saying that a new card is being produced. 3 days later another update came in, case was approved. A couple days later, I got text saying card was mailed to me, 2 days or so after another text saying post office picked up card. Hrs later I got a text confirming tracking number and got GC in the mail next day(last Saturday 11/17/18). It’s has been a long journey but worth it! I give all glory to God and so grateful he has opened another door in my favor in this country! I encourage you to keep having faith as God’s times are perfect and just as he helped me on this journey he will do it with you as well! I know it is hard but do not get anxious and think that you will never be called for the interview, it is now taking longer than usual and wait times have changed significantly. I will gather all dates in the coming days and will provide them so that you can have a better idea.

Thank you all!!!
