More information
Due to family financial issues I had to file Expedition for my EAD.
So now, They opended refferal for that with XYZ referral number,
Now, recently Referall got updated saying “ your request to have your case expedited with xyz referral number has completed “

Does that mean my ead is about to get approve ?
What does this recent update means ? Anyone had same experience in past ?

Adjustment Status
I live in Maryland and my husband and I completed the paper work for my green card 3/2/2018. I received my Biometrics appt for 4/6/2018 and As of June 14, 2018 I checked the status online and it stated "we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status" I have not heard anything about an interview as of now and I get a little anxious when I read how many months or years people have been waiting for their stuff.

Does anyone in Maryland know how long the process has been taking?

I485 interview in San Bernardino Office
To share my interview experience.

I had interview on Jul 13th, 2018.

My case is different from others. I'm currently working for another company. My I-485 adjustment is to work for another company once I get my green card.

I won't go through the labor certificate, I-140 etc. as they are pretty much the same as others stated.

Before interview I was preparing for the questions such as why you want to go to the future company since the salary in the future company is lower than what I earn in my current company; why the future company picks you over others etc.

My lawyer told me that the officer will mainly focus on I-485 questions not the I-140 questions but you have to know your job duties, working location, who you may report to etc.

I asked my lawyer if I need a new offer letter from future company saying the position is still open and valid. Lawyer told me no since we already submitted I-485J together with i-485 adjustment submission. BTW my I-485 is submitted after I got my I-140 approval.

The above was all before the interview.

Here is the summary of the interview:
1) We arrived the San Bernardino office about 40 minutes before our appointment time which is 12:30 pm.
2) Not too many people, just go through the security gate like in the airport. But you can bring water. There is a sign saying no food or drink allowed. But I asked if I can bring water, the answer was yes. So we bring the bottle water in.
3) There is a sign stating appointment level 2. So we take the lift and get in second floor.
4) Hand over our interview notification to the reception. The my wife and I find a seat and wait to be called.
5) We hope that we will be on time. But we were called about 35 minutes after our appointment time.
6) A black lady called my wife's last name and my last name and we followed her into her office.
7) During the walk, I asked if she had lunch. She said no and when she finish my case she will have lunch. The lady was nice.
8) We took the seats in front of her desk. and then ask to raise our right hand to take oath.
9) She asked who I'm working for and where we live and then took the picture and finger print.
10) Then she asked some questions from i485. She combined questions not one by one. But she did confirm from my wife and I on the answers. Nothing special.
11) She asked us the birth certificate which we didn't bring but we have the hard copy since they are in the documents we submitted. We told her that we didn't bring the original birth certificate. She asked if we have that in our house, we said yet. She said ok.
12) Everything goes very well. No question on my current employer and future employer, nor my job duties, working location etc. which I prepared.
13) After she completed i-485 questions. She then asked me for employment verification letter. I said what? She said the pay stub from my future company (she said the company name). I told her that that is my future company, I haven't worked for them yet. She said oh and confirmed with me which company I'm working for now and which company I'll work for once I get green card. Then she asked me the job offer from the future company as it has been almost one year she would like to make sure the future company still has that job offer available. I told her that we have already submitted i-485j and that should be enough. She said it has been almost one year she need updated job offer letter from future company. I argued one more time saying I consulted my lawyer and the answer was that we don't need provide new I485J. She said lawyer was not always right. I said ok I will get the updated offer letter from future company. And she also went out to check with someone and came back saying that she does need to see the updated offer letter.
14) I almost feel that my case will be delayed. She then started typing something in her computer and saying that she is going to give me the instructions on how to provide the required document and where to submit etc.
15) While she was doing that, she also says she hate the i485j process and I can feel that she doesn't want to do that either but she has to follow the instruction.
16) I remember that in my I140 petition letter it was mentioned that the job offer is valid till my green card is granted.
17) While she was preparing the document for new job offer letter, I told her that I have something to show her if that is enough to show that the job offer is still valid. I searched the I-140 petition documents we submitted and found the terms of the offer and it does mention that the job offer is valid till my green card is granted. I showed to her. She said ok. And then started to print the approval notice. While she was printing the approval notice, she said thank you for pointing that out so that she does not need to ask for updated offer letter.
18) We finally got our approval print from her and we thanked her. Looks like she is quite sorry that she didn't look at the i-140 documents we submitted and created some delay.

Overall the officer lady is very nice and no challenging question at all. I feel the officer is not set to challenge you but make sure that you have everything required. I really appreciate the interview officer lady.

My lesson learned: do bring original birth certificate and get an updated job offer letter from your future company if your current company is different your future company and bring you pay slip if your future company is the same as your current company.

I 485 updates and questions
Hey guys I don't even know where to start. I applied for a GC based on marriage with a usc in 2012 and got denied after my interview in 2013. They said that I didn't show enough evidence that it was a bona fine marriage. No deportation action was activated and my case got closed by uscis. I divorced late 2016 and remarried early 2017 to my new wife. I reapplied in May 2018, received a letter for biometrics on June 14 2018, did my biometrics on July 2nd 2018 and finally received a letter for my interview scheduled on August 2018. I haven't received my EAD/AP combo yet and I am extremely confused. Why so fast? Is it because I already had a case with them few years ago. I don't even know if am completely ready. My lawyer told me that it should be okay. I got a job in another State different from the state where I applied for my GC. I had no choice because I need to survive using my EAD from 2013. If during the interview they ask me where I should I tell them the truth? I am really lost. I need your help guys. Thanks
