EAD renewal
When renewing my EAD was I suppose to send pictures? I submitted it a month ago and receive the acceptance notice, but it just dawned on me to ask whether pics were needed.

San Francisco Green Card Interview
I been read this thread from past 1 year. I'm glad to say my journey came to an end for 1st Green Card.

I applied I130 and I485 Concurrent filing

1. April 27, 2017 was Priority date
2. Waited for more than 90 days for EAD, it was around 120 days. It came with an AP.
3. Interview was on schedule on Mar 21st, 2018 after a frustrating long wait
4. There are countless times i used to check processing times, forums etc
On Interview day,
Documents i took was new i94, passport, birth certificates, photos, new Medical examination (i submitted one before), lease, bank statements, beneficiary docs, insurance docs, child birth certificate.
I was 15 mins before interview, registered with front desk, waited for 10 mins before interview began.
I took my two kids to interview with me (if you have kids please do take them, it's easier for officer to understand you relationship when they can see how you handle kids).
First office swore us both. Asked me and my fiance details like names, dob, my social, address. he asked me for DL,passport, child BC, EAD.
He went through yes or no questions. And question for Are you cited by an law officer ? i asked him if traffic violation counts, he said no.
Thats it. He said he had enough documents. I asked him if he need any additional docs, he said absolutely NONE. however i mentioned my new medical examination which he took and said thank you.
He said to expect result in 4-6 weeks.

I was worried once again after going through forums where people are waiting weeks, years.
My case was not updated. I received a letter for I130 approval but online it showed Nothing.
but then came across some forum saying online status dont update properly, then asked me to register at my.uscis.gov account which is different from case status account/online status.
To my surprise i have the whole history there which said they mailed my card. I received my card today,

Thank you everyone, i hope everyone gets it..

BE PATIENT, DON'T LOOSE HOPE. ITS ALL WORTH IN THE END.

Please ask questions if you want to know more in detail

Marriage Based Interview Today
We had our interview at Holtsville, NY (Long Island Field Office)
Date Met Nov 2014
Married May 2017
PD 7/3/17 Forms I485, I130
EAD 2/15/18 (PD 9/22/17)
Interview notice received 2/15/18
Interview 3/29/18
We arrived 30 min early and were called in together exactly on time, 8:05am.
IO was a younger woman - guessing around 35, very serious and business like. Did not smile at all.

After swearing us in, she started by asking for documentation of joint property, etc.
We gave her 2017 joint taxes, checking, savings accounts, auto insur, credit cards, health benefits, engagement ring insurance, AAA account. All our information was organized and indexed.
She asked about utility bills, but they had either my or my husbands name, not both.
Then she asked about joint lease or mortgage, but our coop is only in my husband's name since he owned it before we met. She was satisfied with that answer and he told her I am the beneficiary in his will.

During this time, she was looking down at the docs, making lots of notations and interspersing basic questions like verification of birthdays, occupations, my husbands children from his prior marriage. She quizzed me on their ages and if I met them and how we all get along. She asked my husband my future plans and me about his job; also each of us how many times the other has been married.

She asked how we met but wanted my husband to reply, not me. She didn't seem to be looking for long answers. He told her We Chat, then she asked him if he likes Chinese women! he said his previous girl friend was also Chinese.
She asked when we got married and where, and who attended the wedding. It was just the two of us in Las Vegas.
She asked me when my husband was divorced and him when he got separated and why he waited so long to divorce from being separated (over 5 years).

Lastly, she went through the yes/no questions.
The entire interview took 30 minutes after which she told up everything looks good but she just has to check a few things, and that we should receive notification in 3-6 weeks.
Although she didn't keep any additional documentation, she said we should keep the binders for use in getting the permanent green card. This is because she commented that our original application contained enough information. She compared the size of our file compared to a typical file. Ours was double the thickness!
She didn't look at any additional photos, vacation receipts, etc. - even though we brought at a half binder full.
We told her that my drivers license expires on 4/16 and she seemed to think we may have the GC by then.

Also, we have a 29 year age difference, but she did not ask one question about that. We believe that between the evidence we provided in advance and our responses, it is clear we are truly a couple.

Feel free to ask questions...

Marriage-based AOS in Indiana
Hello - just sharing our experience so far. We are located in Indianapolis, IN and are currently waiting for a marriage-based AOS and greed card. I am the USC and my husband is currently in the country working on an active/valid H1B. My husband entered the country in 2012 with an active F1 for his post-graduate work and was hired after graduation, at which time his employer transferred his F1 to an H1B. It was not necessary for us to file for either the work or travel authorizations because of the currently active H1B.

Our rough timeline:

7/4/2013 - Date we met
8/19/2017 - Married
11/27/2017 - Filed for AOS (i-130, i-130A, i-485, i-864)
12/15/2017 - Receipt of Application Received
1/9/2018 - Notice of Biometrics Exam
1/22/2018 - Biometrics Exam Completed
2/14/2018 - Interview Scheduled for 3/23/2018
3/23/2018 - Interview Completed

Our interview went very smoothly and the officer was very serious but also quite friendly - he was not rude or dismissive in any way. The scheduled interview time was 11:45AM and we had our attorney present. At ~12:00PM, I (the USC) was called back alone and was asked to provide my ID, Birth Certificate, Marriage License and any additional documentation that I wanted to add to our case file. The additional documents that I provided included the following:

- My hushand's sealed medical exam
- Two years of joint checking account statements
- Two years of joint savings account statements
- Most recent (2017) tax return showing that we filed as "Married Filing Together"
- Most recent W2's from both employers
- Six months of most recent pay-stubs from both employers
- My husband's most recent performance review from his employer
- My life insurance policy indicating my spouse as the beneficiary
- His life insurance policy indicating me as the beneficiary
- Receipts of major vacation travel from past 2 years
- Receipts of our marriage and reception expenses
- An original copy of our wedding and reception invitations
- The guestbook from our wedding reception containing signatures of attendees

The officer accepted all of these documents and added them to our file. After going through these documents the officer asked me to wait in his office and proceeded to bring my spouse into the room so that we could be interviewed together.

The first step of the interview was to adjudicate the i-130 form. The officer proceeded to ask me (the USC) nearly every question on the i-130 (basic biographical information about me, my employment history, name and DOB of my parents, etc.). The officer then asked me to verify my signature on the i-130 and completed that portion of the interview.

Next, the officer adjudicated the i-485 and proceeded to ask my spouse all the questions listed on the form, including the YES/NO criminal background questionnaire. There were a few items on the i-485 that were missed or inconsistent. For example, we had accidentally left one of the YES/NO questions blank - which was also a failure of our attorney since he did a final review and sign-off of the forms before they were filed, and my husband also miss-remembered his father's birth date (he answered that it was in May but his birthday is actually in July).

Once the i-485 questions were complete the officer proceeded with the standard marriage-based questions and both of us were invited to answer openly. The questions he asked were:

- When and where did you first meet?
- When did you meet a second time?
- When did you get engaged?
- Tell me the story of your engagement - who proposed and how did it happen?
- Who did you tell about your engagement?
- Who purchased the wedding rings and where were they purchased?
- When did you get married?
- Who attended your wedding?
- Did you have a honeymoon and, if so, where did you go?
- Are either of you currently in school?
- What are you studying?

That was all the questions he asked. Throughout the interview we tried to answer each question with a short story; we wanted to give a complete picture to answer the question and show the details of our relationship but also kept it short and simple. The officer was friendly and interactive throughout this portion of the interview (as an example, when he asked if either of us is in school we explained that my husband graduated with his Ph.D. which is why he entered the USA but that he is going back to school to get an MBA...also that I am a part-time student getting a second college degree and that I will also get an MBA. At that point the officer laughed and joked "OK, so next question, which one of you is smarter?").

At this point the interview was over and he had no further questions. He asked us if we had any questions for him or anything else that he should know to add to our case. We told him that we had many more items with us that we could provide, including our full wedding album, a photo album of our vacations, holiday cards that my family had mailed to us throughout our 5-year relationship, etc. But, the officer didn't take any of those items. He just said "I think I have everything I need."

He proceeded to hand us a document with the dreaded "Your case is held for further review - USCIS does not need any further information from you at this time" box checked. He explained that he would need to conduct another background check on my husband and that if they need anything else they will contact us by mail or otherwise we should receive a decision by the end of April.

That was the end of our session, and we were walked out of the office. Our lawyer explained to us that our interview went very well and there is nothing unusual or concerning about the case, but the officer was very new and is not allowed to approved Green Cards on the spot, so he will need to have the case reviewed/approved by a supervisor and they typically only update cases once per week. He indicated that he would expect us to receive the Green Card in 2-3 weeks, but would file an inquiry if our case isn't updated by April 6.

As of today, our case status online is still "My interview has been scheduled", so we are just waiting for the next update at this point.

Thanks - and I hope this long recap of our experience is helpful for someone!

Processing times I485
From Chicago office.

My PD is may 3 2017. I went to the green card interview on september 12 and no news since then.
I asked a second level agent on call that submitted a "general inquiry", I got a letter saying it was still in review.
I took an infopass, they say you're out of normal processing time but there is nothing you can do except wait.
Processing times online just changed and they are now 11-29 months. Does it really mean that it takes more than 2 years to get an approval after your PD ?

Someone that filled around may 2017 and got his green card recently ?

Thank you,
