San Diego Filer Finally Interview Date!
Hello Everyone!

My priority date is December 5, 2016 San Diego office and finally today early morning I received all the alerts that I signed up for. I am happy to see the notification that we are scheduled for interview next month.

It took 8 months to get an interview date and 9months for the actual interview date.

For those who filed from San Diego and I know a handful here are waiting after my priority date- now at least you have an idea. You guys should all be coming up soon too.

Hang on tight, this is really a test of patience and trust in the Lord. Prayers have been so helpful and support from spouse / family. Continue praying you will get your interview date soon.

Now it's time to gather documents and look back to all what happened from how we started and all that transpired in our two year marriage so that it will be a breeze when the IO interviews us.

I am excited and I will continue praying hard to finish this GC journey with the grace of God.

Any requirement for civil marriage in the US
So, we were married overseas and we have all the photos and official documents (from the government over there) proving the marriage, but we don't have any marriage certificates in the US since we weren't married here. We have some joint documents though (not too much).

I am asking if we have to have a civil marriage in the US?

Thanks in advance for helpers!

My experience n analysis!
Folks this is my experience from tracking n monitoring my EAD case after biometerics was completed. I am in NY so this is what I did I found thread for NY 2017 in this forum n analyze the cases there paying close attention to the timelines between biometerics n approval dates and this is what I find out n this may varied depending of each situation but most situations I found out it takes between 8-10 weeks without no rfe or rfie generally for EAD cases to be approved. There were some case a few that took up to 12 weeks. Cases with reference took a lot longer time to get approval. Folks this is my analysis from matching my case to other cases in this forum. Also I find lots of useful information from folks postings like when to raise a SR n what to do after a SR was raise. Eg.. Like calling USCIS service representative n requesting to speak to a tier 2 IO all these are tips n advice I used to assist in monitoring my case. Thank you for all the advice n best wishes to all of us on this process.

I-485 Finally Approved - San Jose
Finally got my I-485 approved, after a year and 2 months.

Field Office: San Jose
PD: May 11 2016
Interview: March 24 2017

Was given a letter saying they will take 120 days to make a decision. On the 119th (July 23 2017) day I got an RFE for updated medicals (I-693). Here is the kicker, I submitted new medicals during the interview since I knew my old medicals had expired. I guess they missed it, after "reviewing" my case for 4 months. I was livid.

Made an infopass for Aug 2 2017 and told them the new medicals was submitted during the interview. They checked the file right then and found the medicals. They apologized profusely for their mistake and promised to review the case the same day. New card in production message received on Aug 3 2017.

Could have been better, but its done now. So, all good. For those that are waiting for a long time after the interview, the only thing that helps is infopass. Sometimes they might just ask you to wait, but they do help and look into the case if you show up repeatedly, especially if it is after 120 days post interview.
