Sac FO - Card being produced
Hi all,

I wanted to share my interview experience.

Interview lasted about 15 minutes. I took the following with me to the interview:
Interview letter
Supporting Evidence:
- marriage certificate
- Joint taxes
- Bank statement
- Car insurance
- Life insurance
- Medical insurance
- Several photos
Identification
- Passports – both spouse and mine
- Driver license
- Birth certificate and high school transcript since my last name on birth certificate was different from passport. High school transcript had my current last name
- Spouse birth certificate and Naturalization certificate
Children
- Children birth certificates
All previous immigration docs
- Advanced parole
- EAD
- J1 visas
- H1B visas
Proof of employment for both of us including paystubs.

Showed up 15 minutes early. Interview took approximately 15 minutes. Questions she asked were from i485 packet. No additional significant questions. Asked for Passports/Driver license, supporting docs and advanced parole. Didn’t ask for anything else. Status changed to card being produced before we got home. Good luck everyone! Thank you for being supportive through this journey. She said ill get 10 years. We’ve been married for 5 years.

Returned Check
Hi all, I pray everyone is doing okay. I am asking a question for a friend.

One of the checks she sent to USCIS was returned they tried it twice already. she received all receipt notices via text and regular mail 7 days after they received her cases.

8-18-21- 1-day shipping to Chicago Lockbox
8-19-21- case received
8-22-21-8:30pm receipt notices via text
8-24-21- USCIS cashed checks. i485 i130. 1 day later i130 check returned
8-26-21- received all notices in the mail
8-27-21-USCIS tried the i130 check again. The bank returned it again.

She called the bank this morning to see if they can reverse it and send the payment they said they couldn't. We know she will have to pay the $30 returned fee to USCIS

since she has all the notices. Will USCIS send a notice to make a payment? I read where they would give the applicant 14 days to send a new payment. I also read that is not an option anymore. if anyone has any recent experience like this after receiving receipt notices and this happened, what was the outcome?

Do you know if they will void the receipts she already has as a rejection or ask for a new payment for i130?

I-485 Interview scheduled 7/13/2021
Interview conducted and approved on the spot 8/25/2021

Interview:
Interview was scheduled for 6:30am. Seemed like that was the earliest time slot for an interview. We arrived a bit early around 5:30, but the building and the parking lot weren't open. We waited till both opened at 6am. Building security only lets you in 15 mins prior to your interview time.
The officer who interviewed us was friendly and nice. He already had our AOS package on his desk. It felt like he already knew what he was going to ask us - it was more of a conversation than an interview. Interview was about 20 mins long. Pretty standard questions - asking us our full name, DOB, SSN. Asked each other's job title and workplace, names of our parents, when we got married, how we first met, and the last time I (beneficiary) traveled outside of US. Officer asked us to provide any kinds of documents that prove that we've been together since submitting I-485 two years ago, so we provided our child's birth certificate, proof that we own a home together, joint car insurance, joint phone bill, joint tax returns, etc. We brought a lot more with us, but the officer said he got enough and said he'll approve us after filing the papers. Got a notification around 5pm same day that GC card is now being produced.
