Waiting for interview and asked to expedite AP
I have submitted adjustment of status (I-485) for my wife who came to the states on tourist visa on 08/23/17 including request for advance parole for her so that she can travel out of the country while we are waiting for interview and ultimately for her green card to arrive. However, she has the need to travel to be with her mom back in her home country for emotional support to go through medication by the end of 10/17.

I figured that her AP might not arrive on time so on 9/29/17 I requested to expedite her case and so USCIS requested for supporting documents. I faxed everything we have to USCIS on 10/7/17 but we haven't heard anything back from USCIS back yet and on the website the status remains the same of "Received Documents on 08/23.

At this point I'm not sure what I should do to accelerate the process. Her I-94 states that she can remain in the country legally until 10/22/17 so I was wondering if she can leave the country before then and I will stay behind to wait for her AP and then she can use that AP to come back. On the guideline USCIS states that if she leaves the country before getting AP the adjustment status application will be considered abandon so I don't want to risk that either.

Please advise, I believe many people here were in our shoes.

Thanks in advance!

Advance Parole
Hello to All ,

I am a Daca beneficiary and I applied for Advance Parole under humanitarian circumstances back in May 9 ,2017,
I was approve on September 1 2017 and received my approval notice on September 7 ,2017 , at the same time my case status online changed to "Document was send to me on Sep. 7 2017 to the address I provided if I don't received document by October 7 ,2017 contact USCIS ..." I am about to complete my 30 days of waiting in 2 days , I already submitted an online inquired , I spoke 2 times with a representative and once with a 2 tier agent , there is not a tracking number for the document all I can do is wait , My question is :

Have any of you or someone you know experienced this Issue ? Based on comments I have read on this forum it usually takes maximum 2 weeks to receive the actual document , My approval dates are from Sep 15 2017 to October 14 , 2017 .

I will really appreciate your comments , Thank you in advance .

Advanced Parole Sucess
I was approved advanced parole about two weeks ago and valid only for 2 weeks. I was so scared to go because every person organization and lawyer i spoke to advised me not to travel. I have DACA, and they told me advanced parole was even more risky than before. This forum actually really influened my decision and i finally decded to travel. I went to el salvador for just two days. My return was simple enough. I arrived at Dullas Airport in Virginia, I took the U.S. Visitors line. The first immigration officer took my passport asked for the purpose of my trip. Then he took my picture, and finger prints. Then he turned on a white light, another officer came and escorted me to a seperate room. Where another 40+ people were sitting while 2 officers did background checks. We actually waited for almost 3 hours but I think that had more to do with being understaffed than any real problem. Once the officer called my name he asked if i had luggage and if so to grab it and then walk out of the room. Our interaction lasted literally less than a minute. And that was it, no questions or problems. If you have no criminal record you have nothing to fear traveling with DACA and advanced parole.

Advance Parole
Hi friends,

I just wanna ask you if I get my combo card including advance parole, I understand that when I come back from a trip the officers will stamp my passport for validity of one year, so does this mean that I can travel unlimited times within the validity? If I have my passport stamped they just check it at counter and no need to go again to the small room? Thank you

Approved Advance Parole question/error on form
Hello,

I just got approved for advance parole and it says "multiple entries "and expires a year from day of issue. However, the first name on the approved document is a name I haven't used in a long time although still on my birth certificate. My EAD, passport all have my nickname. Will that be a problem?

Please let me know. Thanks.
