H1B, H4 Visa

Hi All,

First I would like to thank this site. It gave me

more confidence to attend my interview without

tension.

My interview was on friday(15/2/08) 10:45 am. I

went with my kids for H4 visa. If we go with kids

then we will finish the interview as soon as

possible. I reached there at 9:50, only few

people were standing in the queue. At the

enterance we have to show our passport,

Appointment letter and the HDFC receipt. After

that cheking we will be allowed inside and again

there was another checking for whether we have

cell phone and other prophibited items or not.

Then we will be allowed to go to counter.

We were asked to join in counter 12. We were

waiting for some time. The Document officer asked

2. HDFC receipt
3. Appointment letter
4. Ds 156
5. DS 157
6. My husband's passport xerox
7. I-797
8. I-129
9. LCA

He put these forms in a folder and gave me and

then i was directed to the interview hall. They

were a lot of persons sitting and some others

were standing in the queue. One officer came

towards me and guided to the counter as i went

with kids. I was just waiting 7 minutes then my

turn came.

Me : Good morning sir, How are you doing?(i
        wished him with a smile)
VO : Where is your husband?
Me : He is in the USA sir
Vo : How long has he been working in this
        company?
Me : one year sir
VO : Why didnt u leave with your husband?
Me : At that time i hads ome family
        commitments and explained that

He went inside and came. He was looking
        my husband's passport.
Vo : How much is his salary?
Me : Answered
Vo Is he working in the same place or in the
        client place?
Me : He is working in the same place, inhouse project

Vo : Ok Mam Your passport will be couried to
        your home address, you will get ur visa in seven days by courier.

Me : Thank you sir, Have a niceday
Vo : smiled

He did not ask my marriage certificate, my
children's birth certificate, marriage album etc.

We finished the interview by 10:45.

So as far as i know,

1. Be cool always
2. When we go with our kids we can finish fast
3. Always keep a smile on your face especially
when you are talking to the officer
4. Answer boldly and politely with confidence
3. You will get your H4 visa

Hi Everybody
 I am Savitha. I was attended interview on NOV 1 -2007. Issued by 221g blue. I informed to our employer for documents. But since four months he didn’t give any response. I was called them many times. But they told it will take two months.. Every time they are telling same answer. What should I do? Am waiting for doc since November. But still I didn’t get. Are there any chances to take any action on them through USCIS. Because I paid money for H1

i had faced interview on Feb 12, 2008 at chennai Consulate. Unremarkably i had issued 221G by visa officer.

Visa officer ticked all the columns in 221G under Petitioner section and after seeing the paper and i told the visa officer
that i have these documents, and started giving tax, wage reports, project report and notarised list of employees. then without
even looking onto the details of the documents , visa officer gave another paper, in that marked to the point that "Your Application
requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made. This office will contact you once this administrative processing
is complete.

please help me i am unable to understand whether i need to drop the documents in VFS. or i need to wait as in the
2nd paper it requires additinal administrative processiong before a final decision can be made.

when i checked with my employer, they are telling no need to submit the documents.

Please help me.

I would like to thank this site. My visa got approved on feb 13th at chennai consulate.

My experience was good.

My interview was at 8:45 am, I started from my hotel room at 7:40. I took auto for Rs.60 from chennai central. I took all my documents along with me. When I was very near to consulate, I came to know that I forgot my comapny tag. I got disappointed and couldn't help myself except going back to hotel room and get it back. so, i went back and took it from room and again started to consulate and within 20 mins I was at consulate. I paid total Rs 140 to autowalla. I entered into consulate at 8:25 am. I went to finger prints and got scanned my finger prints. I didn't pasted my photograph on DS-157. The lady over there says always well educated people do mistakes. I just smiled at her and she pasted my photo on the form. I left to other building for interview. The interview was going on 3 counters. Slowly the queue was moving up. I am observing all people at the counter. That day, they issued almost all dependent visas, but gave 221(g) for almost all H1b aspirants. My turn was coming closer. The guy infront of me went to the counter, he didn't wished the VO, he was busy opening his file and adjusting documents. The VO wished 'good morning' to him then only this guy wished him back, I observed the face feelings of VO, he was little bit irritated becoz of the guy behaviour. He didn't aksed him much, he gave him 221g. finally, my turn came, now my mindset is like If I get visa, well and good, if not, who cares, any way I am having good job in India itself.

Me: Good Morning sir! How are you doing today? (I wished him with pleasent face with good smile)
VO: Very Good Morning! I am fine How are you?
Me: I am fine.
VO: So, you are going to work for YYYY company at US?
Me: right sir.
VO: What is ur qualification?
Me: Master of Computer applications
VO: Can I see your convocation certificate?
Me: I showed him my highest degree Original certificate (Here the VO got impressed very much by seeing my certificate, as our university gives us the ODs in good bonded folder). he looked at the folder then gone thru my OD.
VO: What is ur project at US?
Me: Its an Inhouse project and said him the project name (nothing more than that)
VO: Can I see unemployment wage reports)
Me: showed him
VO: Where are working right now?
Me: YYYY company, Hyd (Its a very good US based MNC)
VO: Can I see employers tax returns
Me: I showed him
VO: Ok sir, I am issuing your visa, you will get it in a week (but I got it the next day itself)
Me: Thankyou very much sir, and I wish him advance happy valentines day. (He smiled at me and wished me the same)

Points to remember.
1) Wish the VO with good smile and pleasent face.
2) You should be very fast to show documents when he asked to show them (put all your documents in an indexed file, if one file is not enough, take two file. In one file put all your documents and other file put all employers documents. It will be easy to find the documents and remember)
3) Dress neatly, best is to go in formals (I was in formals with tie and shoe polished neatly with company tag in neck and smile on face).
4) last, don't forget to pray the GOD.

2. PIMS Likely to Cause Delays for H1Bs and Others

At the Murthy Law Firm, we have been receiving reports of substantial delays in visa issuance at consulates abroad due to the recent implementation of the Petition Information Management Service (PIMS). PIMS was reported to readers in our December 28, 2007 MurthyBulletin article PIMS Verification Update, available on MurthyDotCom. The PIMS system applies to certain nonimmigrant visa applications like the H, L, O, P, and Q, at U.S. consulates abroad. These applications have to be verified through PIMS before a visa can be issued. This is currently creating delays of several weeks in many cases.

Delays Likely, Confirms U.S. Consulate in Chennai

Our affiliate office in Chennai, India, Murthy Immigration Services, Pvt. Limited, communicated with the Nonimmigrant Visa Section of the U.S. Consulate in Chennai regarding visa delays caused by PIMS. The consulate confirmed that the recent change in processing H and L visas is causing considerable delays in many cases. (The consulate did not reference the O, P, and Q visas, presumably since the majority of applications processed at Chennai are in the H and L categories.) It was noted that, as soon as the database is updated, the consulate processes the relevant visa automatically.

The spokesperson for the consulate was unable to predict any timeframe for the resolution of these delays. Most cases take about 5 to 12 extra work days to be resolved, but some can take much longer if the USCIS has not updated the information promptly in the database for verification by consular officers.

Allow Extra Time in Cases Requiring PIMS Verification

In light of these delays, it is best for individuals applying in the H, L, O, P, and Q categories to allow extra time for the visa application process. Individuals who have received advance parole (AP) based upon the filing of an I-485, Application for Adjustment of Status, may choose to use that document for travel to avoid the delays of visa application at the consulates. Persons who do not have AP, but who are eligible to request it, may choose to do so in order to facilitate future travel.

Conclusion

Delays of several weeks in visa issuance are often quite disruptive, both for individuals and their employers. In a global economy, travel is often necessary for business purposes, and not simply an optional luxury. The PIMS system needs to become more efficient in order to reduce disruption and facilitate necessary foreign travel.

I got 221(g) from bombay consulate to submit the extra documents from my employeer(Visa officer has returned back all my documents expect DS-156 & DS-157).

1. Is it necessary to send again the DS forms while submitting the documents.
2. If it needs to send, we can use the previous DS forms while we have taken at interview for the first time.
3. What is the url for downloading the DS Forms.

Please ladies and gentelman help me in my case, iam not getting enough information from the vfs website.

Happy to say that I got my H1b on 13 th of Feb

Immihelp is very good site .

Me: Yes Sure.I have given the Service level agreement copy of employer and client
CounsL:She said the goledn words I am issuing the visa you will get it with in five days.
She ven didn,t asked single doc.

So friends be confident ang carry all required documents .

My wife is going for H4 Visa next month. Can she collect the passport on the same day? can She ask VO about collecting passport in the evening?

Once her stamping is done she wants to fly next day..

My VISA interview was on 11th Feb at 12:30 PM.

Before going to visa interview i visted to Sidhi Vinayak Temple,Mahalaxmi Temple and Gurudwara.

I was called at Window No-7 at 0345PM with 3 candidates by TOKEN NUMBER a young American Guy was there and he was very suportive and frndly guy. 1st candidate came with his wife and got VISA, 2nd candidate also got now my my turn came i was waiting outside for his singnal to come into the cabin. They signaled me and i entered into cabin and

  VO- HOW MUCH IT EXP. DO U HAV?
  ME- 4YEARS

  VO- WHT IS UR QUALIFICATION?
  ME- SAID
    
    VO- WHT U DOING IN YYYY XX(MY INDIAN COMPANY NAME)?
   ME- WORKING AS A YYYY X(MY POST) AND RESPONSIBLITIES WITH TECHNOLOGIES IN WHICH I AM CURRENTLY WORKING.

AT THE SAME TIME I SAW HIM HE KEPT MY I-797 ONE SIDE AND PASSOPORT WITH DS-156,157 STARTED BINDING WITH RUBBER BAND AND KEPT IT ANOTHER SIDE THAT TIME I GOT ASSURED THAT HE IS GOING TO ISSUE ME VISA.............

They did not ask me for single document to show.but i had all the docs thnx to my US who sent me all the necessary documents

Came out from the cabin and then visited to mahalaxmi Temple and collected my passport in the same day



i would like to tell u some thing when u would be in front of VO
  1. Reply clearly to VO so that he can understand u better
  2. dont speak loudly be cool and shuld be smiling face
  3. hav faith in ur self and hav CONFIDENT

  and ofcourse dont forget TO ALL MIGHTY GOD


NB- pls carry xerox copy of HDFC receipt (pink color) at the time of passport collection at the vfs office in the evening.

Hey...First of all I would like to thank god and then Immihelp for guiding me to get a H1B visa on 11th of Feb

I reached the Visa counter and wished VO (Madam) Good Morning,She is very pleasant and replied back Very good morning.She verified all my certificates and experiences from previous companies.She asked me explain the project description and Company reletad info. in US.I explained about my project description and the interview went for 30 mins.Finally she issued me Visa.
