221(g) Yellow at New Delhi Consulate
Hello everyone,
I know some of you guys must be waiting for your H1B after getting a 221(g) yellow from the consulate. Here's my experience -
Interview date: 2nd Jan 08.
Place: New Delhi consulate.
Purpose: H1B stamping/validation.
The lady at Window 8 gave me a yellow 221 (g) after the interview (usual questions - how did u hear about the company, ur role and resps etc) and told me that "additional administrative processing" would be needed before they could approve the case. As I was going through the posts on this forum, I got a little worried after reading that some people were waiting for their passports for months. I guess people who finally do get their passport back don't bother coming back here again and update others. Anyway, if you get a 221 from New Delhi consulate, don't panic. My best bet is, it's because of that new PIMS rule (see the details on the New Delhi Embassy website), and this takes at least a week. My case was approved on the 7th.
My suggestion to people who are planning to travel to India and will be appearing for the interview is - get the date as early as possible, so even if your application is put on hold, you can still afford that delay.
I hope this helped. If you have any further questions, please send me an email at [email protected].

Thanks

Redirected to chennai from Mumbai
I attended in mumbai consulate on 7th Jan along with my wife. I got 221(g) white form stating that I need to attend in chennai consulate. I am native of andhra pradesh and working in Pune for past 2 years. My wife recently got passport from Hyderabad.. So, VO pointed out that, asked me to show driving licence and ration card issued by Maharastra government. But I am having all the proofs except those.. I tried to explain my situation, and VO doesn't want to listen ..

In 221(g), he also wrote '45 days wait' in others section.

Can anyone plz let me know when can I attend in chennai consulate??

Your help will be highly appreciated..

Thanks & Regards,
VisaQuest..
