Advanced Parole DACA
Application sent: 10-26-16
Application approved: 2-26-17
Dates Traveling: March 18-23

I received Advanced Parole through my DACA status.

My husband and I departed Saturday from LAX and we arrived in Zacatecas on Sunday March 19.

We flew from Mexico City straight to Los Angeles when returned to the US. Upon checking in in Mexico City I had to present my Advanced Parole approval along with my passport. They took pictures of the form and my passport which were sent for verification. Because we checked in at about 4:15 a.m. and the verification office did not open until 5:30 a.m, we had to wait until it was verified to receive our boarding tickets.

When we arrived into LAX my husband, an American citizen, and I were allowed to stay together until my secondary check. He was directed to check in using a kiosk and I followed. We then went to finish checking in where I again showed my Advanced Parole form and passport. At this point we were asked a few questions: 'What is your relationship?' 'What is Advanced Parole?' 'Do you have a connecting flight?' 'Where do you live?' 'What do you do for work?' After answering his questions my husband was directed to wait in the luggage pickup area and I waited for an officer to take me to the secondary questioning area.

When I entered the room there were about ten people ahead of me. I don't know how long I waited before my name was called. I was very grateful that the officer helping me was a nice person. He asked me where I went, how my trip was, how long my trip was, when was the last time I had gone to Mexico and if i was in the process of filing my paperwork. He then stamped and signed both of my Advanced Parole sheets and my passport. He kept both sheets and I left my passport stamped.

It was terrifying leaving the country without the certainty that I would be allowed back in. I am incredibly thankful my return was a success and that we can now begin the adjustment of status process.

Traveling to Haiti with AP and TPS
I left a comment previously after I got back from Haiti two months ago. If anyone is planning on leaving two travel to Haiti for the first time with Advance parole and TPS. Make sure you have a validation passport, to form of Advance parole issued by USCIS comma and a valid work card issued by USCIS. When returning back to the US from Haiti. Waterford shows will automatically send non-us citizens to secondary for questioning. Once I got to secondary no one questioned me or gave me a hard time with anything. I was simply sent into a room waiting for about 15 minutes. Both my passport Advance parole document were damp and I was on my way out of the airport back into the United States.

Again just be sure to have a valid passport, a U.S. issues work card and two documents of your advanced parole forms. Good luck to you guys.

DACA student traveling with Advanced Parole
Hey everyone,
This following Friday, I will be vistining to my country of birth after 13 years, with my advanced parole. I have had my DACA status since 2012. When I first received my AP in January, I was both hesisitant and terrified of using it. After finding this website, and reading about everyone's experience, it assured me that the risk in traveling with my AD is one I have to take. You all have given me so much hope and faith that everything will turn out great and I will be able to return back to this place I call home.
I will be leaving this Friday and returning on Tuesday, through COPA AIRLINES.
I am praying that everything will go smoothly and cannot wait to return and finally after so many years of waiting, adjust my legal status.
My prayers and thoughts are with each individual that are also planning on taking on this risk.
Thank you all for posts on this website, that have pushed me to make this decision.
May God Bless you all.

Portland PDX
Hi everyone, reading all of your stories and positive experiences give me hope that everything will be ok if I decide to travel. I applied for AP at the end of November, my documents were received 12/5. my case was finally approved 3/18 and I got all my documents 3/23.

I am wanting to travel 4/14 and plan to take a direct flight from Portland, OR PDX airport, down to Guadalajara and same way back on 4/26. My only living grandparent is very ill and doctors don't give us much hope. I am just wondering if anyone here has had the experience of traveling to and from Portland PDX on AP. If so, what was it like, was everything ok? I am so excited about traveling but at the same time it hits me that I might not be allowed to come back to my husband and daughters. PS, I am planning on traveling with my 2yr old who is a citizen..Thoughts?

Coming back with my husband
I wonder if someone came back with their sentimental partner, who also got AP, by DACA or if you know of someone, we have a daughter we are not legally married but we have the same address in all papers, our idea is to happen at different times, but I wonder If nothing happens if we cross at the same time even if it is different official. Eh asked with several lawyers and each different things so I would like to know if someone has been through the same situation
