Marriage certificete endorsement by ministry of foreign affair

Hello Expert,

Need advice.

Was told the foreign marriage certificate need to be translated and endorse by foreign country Ministry of Affair to be accepted for I-485 submission (for spouse)

Is this true?

No need to attest from Ministry of Affairs if your marriage certificate is issued by Govt, body.(department of Marriage/endorsement)

- if it's issued by private Pundit, Missonary, church, masjid is not accepted.
