I'm seeking opinion from folks who share similar experience with my case. Recently, INS called me into office for Interview with IO. Purpose of this interview was to adjust i485 based on I130 petition filed in January 2001. With that said I enter the country ( US ) unlawfully, EWI (entry without inspection) through airport. IO never inspected my entry. I had an agent who took care of all details and we were in group of five people. I am unaware of how they brought me from China such as visa used. I had an agent who walked me through details. Few attorneys who I spoke with have said IO usually considers such entry with questionable. I’m not sure why so. However they have yet to see similar case like my. Now after the interview officer asked that I wait for response and should more document be needed I would be notified.
