  • Green card through Asylum marital status (Please help)

Ok so basically my mom, little sister and me are applying for a Green Card. Our Asylum was approved back in 2010, but we weren't able to apply until now, for personal reasons. Basically, my mom took Asylum against my dad. Long story short, his family circumcised my little sister, my mom was mad about it. My father started "snapping" at my mom due to family pressure, this coincided with riots in my country. Since my dad is pretty "influential" around there, taking my sister anywhere without his consent would get her arrested. So my mom had to pretend that we were coming here on vacation so he would allow for us to travel(parental approval etc...)- We had been here before so he did believe in us coming back. But given the situation in my country and things between my parents we couldn't go back, we had to take asylum. Now since there wasn't a formal separation- divorce etc...- thus theoretically still married, while filing for the I-485 and G-325a is she supposed to put her marital status as "married" although the asylum was taken against my dad, but there wasn't a formal separation? And then explain it on some paper? Or choose something else? Anything you can tell me about this will be appreciated. Thank you.
