  • Spouse of Green card holder- F2A

    Hello,

I need help in solving little complicated situation.
I got married in May 2010 and that time I was on Green card and My spouse was on F1 visa. After our marriage in May 2010 we filed for his green card form I-130. We knew it takes time to open and I had time to apply for my citizenship as well. So for 2 1/2 we have been waiting and tracking the VISA bulletin but no luck so far. Now I am eligible to apply for my citizenship and I have done it, waiting for my interview date. Also at the same time the visa bulletin dates are showing we might receive letter for my spouse from USCIS stating his priority dates becoming current. If this is the case then,

    1) which letter should we be expecting? What is the letter/form called?
    2) Is it advisable to go through this way OR should we wait until I become citizen and then update his status?
    3) If we don't wait until my citizenship then how long usually this process takes before my spouse gets his green card?
    4) Is it the same process? file form I485, Fingerprints etc. ?
    5) Can he travel outside of US after filing I 485? if not what does he require before leaving the country and how long can he stay outside?

Thanks for your help in advance.
