  • time to approval following fingerprinting

My I-485 RD is July, 2003. I just received a notice to get fingerprints done at the end of August. Can anyone tell me approximately how long it might be after that step to getting the I-485 approved?

    fingerprint

Actually getting fp done and 485 approval has no link whatsoever. I got my FP done immeidtaely after finling 485, its 2 years now, I got an rfe , but the case is not approved yet. so dont go by that.

      Re: fingerprint

Just to further clarify, my I-140 and I-485 were concurrently filed and the I-140 was approved about 3 months ago. Does that make any difference?

Yea My I 140 and 485 was also filed concurrently and I 140 was approved in 4 months, but this has not changed a thing. Its more than a month since I replied to RFE and still havent heard anything at all. Hope for the best.

          Re: 485

My I-140 was filed on Nov'03 and I-485 filed on Dec'03 at Vermont (VSC) center and my I-140 got approved and I got finger-print notice and completed finger printing on Sep 21, 2004. And currently I see the following for my case status. Could anybody tell what does it mean? Does it mean that they are currently processing my I-485 and how soon I may get approved? Please let me know.

Receipt Number: EAC YYYY YYYY XX

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
