Trying to get the papers to submit for my wife's adjustment of status. For the affidavits of support, I'm not sure how to go about it. Myself, I didn't make enough in the past two years to even file taxes. Now, I have a good job but a lawyer (during a one-time visit, $300) said that I should have my parents sponsor her with me. Ok, fine. The problem is, how do I classify each of us and which forms to fill out? Apparently there can be only two joint sponsors. I was just going to use my mother but the lawyer said that since my parents filed jointly that my father must also sponsor as well. On I864a, am I the sponsor or is my mother the sponsor? Are we all sponsors? Do we all need to individually complete I864 AND I864a? How should I go about this?
