Hello guys,
I have a few questions and would be really grateful if anyone could asnwer them for me.
My wife and i applied through marriage. We filled for work permit and adjustment of status. I got my letter for bio-metrics and got my finger prints done. Then within a month i got a letter for my first interview. I wasn't expecting it so early but i guess thats a good thing right?
We went to the interview in Hartford CT, and the interview was very easy and quick. We think we did very well as they asked us not many questions just basic simple questions. I was very surprised my work permit hasn't arrived though. I asked the officer why i didn't have it yet, she said she wasn't sure but it could be because everyone is applying for the dream act. I asked The immigration officer about the resident card and she said it can take up to 4 weeks to 6 weeks for me to get my resident card and as soon as i get it i wont need the work permit because i can just get a social security number with it. It has been 5 weeks now after the interview and i haven't even received a letter or anything. Should i have gotten a letter after the interview? Is something wrong with my case?
I went to the uscis.gov site and looked up my case and it still says Initial Interview for work permit and for the adjustment of status it still says Testing / Interview
let me know what you guys think as we are worried.
edit: if something was wrong it they would send me a letter right?
Date of first interview: Nov 6, 2012
