Hi everyone.
I'm 29 years old from mexico. I came to the states in March 1988 and my dad (U.S. Resident) filed for Family Unity (approved) until 1999 for my whole family and we all received our social security numbers along with work permits. I tried to file for adjustment of status until i was about 22 years old and was told by a local immigration lawyer that it was too late to do it, since i was over 21. So, for the past 14 years i've had to renew my work permit every 2 years. Not too long ago i talked to a person who deals with immigration issues but is not a lawyer. I asked her when could i file for adjustment of status (485) and she said that right now they (us immigration) is only working on cases from 1993. Does anyone know if i can file for 485 now? Can i file anytime? Any information is greatly appreciated.
