Change L1A to Green card + before/after wedding

Hello,

I am currently on my 2nd year of my 3 year L1A visa. I will be changing to Green card in the near future and need some help on a couple things.

1. I am engaged and will be getting married in early 2014. Should I apply for the i485 while we are engaged or wait until we are married? Fiance is Japanese on J1 visa for work.

2. If I apply before we are married, what are the steps to modify/adjust the i485 to include her into my application?

Any help will be great.

Wait until you are married. It is a lot easier to have her adjust as a dependent before you have your greencard. Otherwise she will have to wait, the F2A priority date is DEC15 2010 at the time of writing.
