I'm over 21 and my father petitioned for me (i130) in 2011. It's still pending. In the mean time I got married. My wife is a U.S citizen. And she is considering to petition for me. Does my father have to cancel the petition he filed before my wife files hers? Or can she file while the first one is still pending? I believe it will take many more years before there is any movement on the first petition. Any help will be appreciated.

I had a previous petition and went ahead and filed a different one with my us citizen wife and got approved as long as you can qualify you are money in the bank, hire an attorney if at all possible trust me is worth the money

you should keep on your father petition. Your wife should file a new petition for you, both will help you as I think.Comment
