  • Adjustment of the status

Hi, hope someone will be patient enough to reply.
I will marry my girlfriend in a few days. She is US citizen and I arrived here on tourist visa. Since we can't afford a lawer for adjusment od status, we will try to do it alone... and maybe after composing everything we'll look for a free legal aid, just to review and see is it filed properly. Now, as far as I understood, I have only one shot to submit it properly since I have tourist visa. Want to apply for employment authorisation too, I have one marriage behind me, I figured that she needs to fill I--130 and I have to file I-485, I-693, birth certificate, translated divorce verdict... but I don't know which docs EXCATLY I need to submit, and I am slightly in panic since I have only that one chance. I would be more than thankfull if someone helps me with this.
    Bests

Hello there. You will have to marry first. Then file the form i130. You can then wait for your notice to come in the mail that will tell you whether it is approved or not. Then if approved, you can file i485. But honestly, if you don't know what to do reach out to this folks immigration @ moafconsulting .com. They are pretty affordable. They helped a couple of mine friends and believe me my friends are NOT rich.

      Adjustment of Status

      Hi,

This is what U need to do with out paying anyone. Download these forms and their instructions, each of them will tell U what things U need to supply as proof.
FORMS: I-130 Petition for Alien Relative, 2 copies of G-325A Biographic Information- one for each person, I-485 Application to Register Permanent Resident or Adjustment of Status,
I-864 Affidavit of Support, I-765 Application for Employment Authorization, I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record . File them ALL together and pay attention to where it tells U to mail it based on what state U are living in, but DONT pay for the I-765 because if U file the I-485 together I-765 the is no charge. I made that mistake and they refused, and it took longer, they cashed my check, and than lost my application and I had to start over. Make sure U do Bank Check, and follow how they want it, because there is a charge for fingerprints..I dont remember if U use one check or separate..THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO READ IN THE DIRECTIONS, they will deny and U get the notice after a month.

Person who is sponsoring U will need to supply tax returns for last 3 years, check stubs for last 6 months, if any previous marriages divorce decree translated if from foreign country.
Showing that both of U have bank account together, on the insurance, on the mortgage, credit cards, utility bills, any foreign birth certificates need to be translated, pictures. This is more
      for the interview.

Hope this helps. If I think of anything else I will post.

The ONLY forms U fill out and sign is I-485, I-765, one G-325 and she fills out the rest..There is no particular order..U will need to goto the doctor who does tests for
Immigration purposes as well, and he/she will give the results to U in a sealed envelope which U cant open and need to include. There is a link to a form once U open each
one and fill it out with Ur email and cell # and place it on top off all the documents, and once they receive it they will notify U..within a month U should get an official receipt they are processing it. From there U wait 2-3 or so for fingerprints, and another 2 months or so for interview. There U will need pictures from different events from ur life, she needs to add U to credit cards, car/health insurance, beneficiary, bank account...make sure U know what credit cards U have, what bills are paid, as my husband didnt know and they dragged things out and they denied him, and we needed to get a lawyer. And in the end of all this, HE MARRIED ME ONLY FOR GREENCARD, and Im the mother of his 6 year old child who is Autistic.. Good Luck!
