How to get I-551 stamping?

I got my 485 approved. I also completed my biometrics finger printing today. I 'm planning to travel to India 10 days. I'm hearing I need to get I-551 stamping in my passport before I travel. Is it true?
If it is true, Can I go ahead and take the infopass appointment and can I ask the USCIS officer to make the stamping.

Also it is to be noted that, my spouse got a letter from USCIS to get an infopass appointment and she made it through. But I did not get any letter like that.

I'd be grateful, if you pls. could provide some information on this?

You take an appointment through InfoPass and get it stamped before traveling.

You need to apply for advance parole before leaving, I will not recommend it though,because it is not a guarantee that you will be allowed back into the coutry, you have to go throgh the same inspection as a visitor and upon the officer's discretion trea carefully.
