Hi! I got married to my wonderful husband in July. I applied for change of status, and waiting to hear back from the USCIS. As I'm also looking forward to going back to school. As a green card holder, can I study and pay for instate tuition? Do I have to wait for me to apply for instate tuition at a college or university?

    Thanks

Depending on the state, you have to prove residency there. I don't know how many months that requires. In California, it's a minimum of 1 year. If you have been in the state for the requisite amount of time, your GC qualifies you for in-state tuition.

      oh Thank you!

I have lived in Colorado for longer then 2 years, before marriage, will that count? Or they only start from after you get ur green card?

      Thanks in advance!

It's 1 year in Colorado. Do you have a driver's license that was issued at least 1 year ago? That should cover you. Otherwise, maybe some bank statements.

Yes, I have had a drivers license in Colorado for the last couple of years.

          Thank you
