SORRY! Wrong section, I know, but I couldn't think of a more relevant section than adjustment of status (although not i485)!
Here is my story...
I came to the US under the age of 5 with my parents under my dad's student visa. We all entered the US legally and with inspection. Completing his studies lead to employment (some company filed for him). The job didn't work out, and some time passed and the visas became expired. We all stayed in the United States as undocumented immigrants. I am aware that we all filed for 245i (Adjustment of status) and are grandfathered under this bill. What does this mean to my family and me?
If we apply for the green card lottery and win, does this mean that we can adjust our status to get a green card within the United States? Because if any of us leave, we would be barred for 10 years (I am over 18).
