I'm stuck in Mexico bc I'm still missing my I512 which is a card. I didn't know I needed it. I left with a notice of action. So as soon as it arrives ill be able to cross back to US. I just hope they don't make it a big deal. My case had been approved since August, there just any warning in the action o notice of further documentation. Been here for 2 months!

What documents do you specifically have?? I've been asking like crazy, they say its i512 and/or a paper document with my picture on it. They don't seem to know. Uscis gave me till nov 18 to recieve something.

Seems like USCIS is backed up, I called them today. And after I called 3/4 times to ask if the shut affected the time frame of my case, I was reassured the shut down did not affect it. But today when I called, they said coz of the shut down things have been taking a while. Confusing!?!? I asked to expedite my I131 and they said I will hear from them in before the 14 of November hopefully to get my ap. let the waiting game begin. Geez!!

I was told it wasn't going affect either! And yes! Very confusing, I had to call many times also!
But just a question, do you already have documentation? If you do, may I know what it is? I don't have anything yet, just an approval notice. That's what I've been dying to know..

Don't want to bust your bubble, it may be different for you, it took 2-3 mts to just recieve the i797 approval notice. The card was not sent yet, and I made the mistake of leaving the us, now I can't cross back until I have the card. FYI, the i797 doesn't warn you about how many days it'll take. So don't leave without speaking to a professional or you can even ask at border or airport befo re leaving.

Thats my afvice from personal experience.. Post when you recieve something pls and thank you...

I applied in April, it actually took 4 months but bc they returned it due to the wrong fee amount..
I recieved mid-late August (just the action of notice)

I tried calling, and was able to talk to customers service. You can try it, if it takes too long. Best wishes!
