No, but if you leave the U.S. and then return while your I-485 is being processed (with an Advance Parole), your reentry record will not be given to you on a hardcopy I-94. As of March 2013, I-94 information can be downloaded from: government web site

I agree with the other post. I didn't re new my wife's i94 when I filed all the petitions at the same time but it was 2 months before her i94 was set to expire. Also it ran over the expire date of her i94 as the paper work went through the system but there's nothing to worry about.
