i am filling the i-485 and need to know how to make out the checks. is there one check for bothe the filling fee for the i-485 and bio-metrics or is there two separate checks i need to send in?

You should use separate checks or money orders for each procedure ($1,070 and $420), made out to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security."
