  • Emergency Visa Appointment in Mumbai

    Hi All,
My father recently underwent a heart bypass surgery in Bombay Hospital in India. He is currently not doing well and I would like to visit him at home. I just recieved my 7th year extension papers and I have an appointment for stamping in Mumbai consulate scheduled on the 17th of January 2006. I would like to know if I could get an emergency appointment at the Mumbai Consulate. What are my chances of getting an appointment? I would like to return back to the USA within 2 weeks, but I would like to know more details regarding the emergency visa appointment. It is possible to schedule any appointment in other consulates like Delhi or Calcutta?.
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

I know that a person whose home is in Maharashtra may not appear for an interview at the Delhi or Kolkata consulates.

As regards emergency appointment, I think you should write an email to VFS [[email protected]] to ask how an emergency appointment may be scheduled. These guys respond within one day.

Or you can simply call them at 2494-4666 (Mumbai area code) to talk to a person.

    Hope everything works out.
