How can B1 visa Holder become a citizen

i have this case, my two kids (4 years and 2 years old ) have entered the USA on mid Jan 2014, the have B1 visa for 3 years, multiple entries, my wife is an American citizen, we were unable to make the petition procedures before going to the US, it took us long time just to access the embassy, and the procedures were too complicated to follow up from Palestinian territories, so we just gut B1 visa, my wife spent less than 5 years inside the USA.

now we need to go in the procedure of issuing and American passport for the kids, what is the right way and shortest path of doing it ?

The children might not be eligible for U.S. citizenship, depending on how your wife obtained her U.S. citizenship, and the amount of time your wife spent in the U.S.

Your wife can submit I-130 petitions for the two children and I-485 Adjustment of Status petitions, both at the same time.

Once the children have established Green Card status, they can apply for Citizenship Certificate, using form N-600 (not the same as Naturalization Certificates).
