I 485 Approval for Out of Status

Hi Experts,

Please provide your advise/inputs on your case.


I am working as manager in MNC almost 10 years of experience holding L1A visa.

I came in L1 vis which got expired in Mar-2012( I had valid 194 till Mar 2014 at that time), so my company didn't apply for extension immediately.

They applied for conversion and filed the L1A INDIVIDUAL petition on June-2012. I stayed in i-94 validity almost for 3 months before my company filed my L1 conversion petition

( I completed almost 5 years in USA with three times visit to home country, back home in my last visit i got the L1A visa approved)

Now my company is going to to apply for GC, i saw in forums, i-485 approval could be a problem since i stayed only in I-94 in the past.

Is it true?

Is it worth initiating GC process now ?

I want to avoid GC rejection history in my records.


I would really appreciate your help on this.
