Processing time for an I-485 for a Pakistani born

I born in Pakistan and now a Canadian citizen, i have submitted my I-485 EB-2 category in Dec 2012 to the Texas center, its been more then a year and they are keep saying that they are waiting for background check to be completed.

I have contacted the Congressman and still no go. right now I am on H1B and applied for the extension but don't know how long it will take to get the GC.

any idea what to do?
