I-485 is "pending adjudication" / Initial review after 9 months

Hello Everyone,

So I'm frustrated with USCIS. I applied for a greencard based on refugee admission to the US and it's been 9 months since I have filed the application. I have already received and done the biometrics. When I asked USCIS about the status, they replied:

Our records show that your case is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay.

On the website, it's status is still "Initial Review".

Anyone knows what's going on?

Is it possible that my biometrics are simply lost and they have never received them?
