Joint Sponsor documents for interview

Hello,

My husband and I filed t adjust his status and we know that we must bring original documents to the interview. My question is, we had to have a joint sponsor help us with the application who lives out of state. Do we need to bring his original documents to the interview as well as our own? I am not sure if he would be comfortable sending his original birth certficate, etc. in the mail. Is it ok to bring photocopies of these documents as long as we have originals of all our own things?
