Hello, my boyfriend has a J-1 Visa with no 2-year residency requirement that expires on July 11th. He then has a 30 day grace period before he has to leave. We have our wedding planned on July 18th in Washington D.C. although we currently live in Orlando, FL.
I am very worried about us not getting our marriage certificate in time before he reaches the end of his 30 day grace period. We need the certificate to do the I-130/I-485 and so on, which I believe need to be submitted BEFORE his grace period is over. What can we do if we don't receive our marriage certificate before the end of his grace period?
