I came to the US on a tourist visa to visit my friend, a girl and then eventually met this guy who is now my husband. When we file the AOS, we put everything in my maiden name. We just filed in May, by the end of May, got my biometrics taken. A week later, request for I 94 copy, sent it. I realized that If I wanted to use my married name, I should have put it right away in the forms when applying for my green card. I still have yet to receive my EAD, Interview date. Since my EAD will probably be in my maiden name then everything after that is in my maiden name such as driver's license, ssn#. What do you think is the best thing to do right now? I want to use my married name.

When you interview for the Adjustment of Status, ask for the Green Card to be issued in your married name. If the interviewer tells you it is "out of his hands," you can later change the name on your Green Card using form I-90. The fee for the change and reissue of the Green Card is about $450.
