My mother filed a petition for me under the Family Based - Married children category. Can I file for an adjustment of status? If so, what is the procedure?

How long ago did you mom petition you? A married child take a few to many years to be eligible for a visa (and Adjustment of Status).
When did mom file and in what country do you live?

If your F3 Priority Date is in 2005, I would estimate a visa slot being available about middle of 2015.
If you submit an Adjustment of Status package before your Priority Date is current, the package will be rejected and returned to you.
