Applying F1 to H1B while I-485 pending

Hi guys,

I definitely need some help regarding this matter.

I am currently on F1 - OPT and having my I-485 pending.

Would it be safe and advisable to apply for an H1 in the middle of a pending I-485?

I just want to be in the safe side if possible taking pre-cautions and keeping up my legal status and presence here until my I-485 got approved.

Thus, any helps and advise regarding this would really be appreciated.
