  • Different alien number in OPT EAD and I-797C

    I have an OPT EAD card which has my alien number that I entered into the AOS application. When I received my I-797C (Notice of Action) for forms I-485 and I-131, it had a different Alien number. Is this ok?

      Yes, it's not the receipt number. It is a new alien number.

          Hi there! Glad to know I'm not alone! I found the same issue yesterday just like yours. Can you please share your solutions and updates by any chance?
          Thank you in advance!

            I have same situation too, I want to believe it not an issue to be concerned about. Please let us know If you find out anything different from USCIS.

              I just found out from an attorney;
              Don't worry! That is normal. The "A" number assigned to one's OPT-based work permit document is always different than the real, permanent "alien number" USCIS assigns to one upon the filing of an adjustment of status application.

                Thank you for the information!
                We have got all the receipts and biometrics notice. No RFE notice yet. Things seem going well so far!
