I 485 , EAD AP and sponsor ship questions

My spouse has not filed taxes for many years including last 3 years. I filed adjustment of status without her sponsorship. I did have a second sponsor who is a tax paying citizen. USCIS is now asking for the petitioner ( my spouse) to submit a I 864. If she has not paid any taxes can I just let her submit a zero tax I 864 sponsorship??

please advice, will greatly appreciate that. also will my EAD and AP will be held up now till an I 864 is submitted..

Your spouse, the petitioner, must provide an I-864 with explanation for why she is not required to file income tax returns. Whether she has income or not, she is still the primary sponsor, and the I-864 from her must be part of the package. In my experience, EAD and AP will be held up until you satisfy the evidence request.

It should take about 30 minutes for him to complete the I-864 and any accompanying documents.
