Removal PROCEEDINGS and FINAL INDIVIDUAL HEARING.

Hello guys, not sure if this is the right section for this thread, but I've searched the forums and didn't see a section for General Removal. I have a question, I was supposed to have an INDIVIDUAL HEARING that I was really looking forward to on August 4th 2014, but due the immigration crisis with the flood of those unaccompanied children at the border, immigration courts have prioritized their cases and moved the lower priority dockets behind all the new cases.

Anybody else in the same situation as me? How long should I expect to wait to get another hearing scheduled? PLEASE CHIME IN!

Rescheduling time is totally unpredictable, but can be a very long wait. The initial hearings are sometimes scheduled as far away as 18 months, at least that has been my experience with a Chinese asylum case. I was led to believe that it was simply a matter of full dockets scheduled well in advance

Did you have to wait 18 months? I would assume that those that have Individual hearings won't have to wait that long, I would understand Master Hearing. At least that's what I'm telling myself to cope with the pain. It makes absolutely no sense to me, why won't they just squeeze in those who have individual hearings since their cases would be adjusted on that day with the other new cases? That's completely doable, instead making us wait for so long to adjust our cases.

The Chinese girl I was helping waited that long. In the meantime we submitted an Adjustment package for her, which was denied, because of the preexisting Removal proceedings. At the final hering, however, she was given permission to proceed with her Adjustment of Status based on marriage.
