Hi I am a US citizen and my Canadian wife is looking to come here so that I may file the I-130 and I-485 at the same time for adjustment of status. My question is can that simply be done by her coming across the border using her Canadian Passport? Does that then qualify her as "legally being in the US"? If so does anyone have any tips on what she should tell the border crossing guard when coming over. We want to do this completely legal and without being "sneaky". I'm just worried if she crosses and tells the guard she's coming over for 6 months on her passport so that I may sponsor her via I-485 will they turn her away etc. Thank you for any help.

If your fiancee expresses intent to marry and remain in the U.S., she might be denied entry when trying to enter the U.S.
