  • how long is a biometrics procedure?

    hey could anyone please tell how long does it take to go through the actual biometrics procedure? I will need a ride to the place so I have to tell ppl approximate length of trip-waiting for me ...

    08/19/2013 - got married
    11/08/2014 - sent out concurrent AOS package
    12/08/2014 - biometrics
    01/24/2015 - got an invitation to initial interview (Feb.23)
    01/29/2015 - received EAD
    02/23/2015 - interview, only I130 was approved, I485 on hold for review
    03/02/2015 - got an approval!

    It depends on number of people waiting to be processed. The actual printing and photo takes about 20 minutes. At my local Biometrics office, which serves Sacramento and Northern California, most people are in and out in less than 30 minutes.

      thanks! it took only 20 minutes total of waiting in a line and the actual process

        BTW, for those who have changed their last name after marriage:
        they instruct to bring only a photo ID and the appointment notice with you and nothing else. However you have to bring a copy of the marriage certificate with you since your passport is still under the maiden name.
        Well, I might be the only one dummy who didn't guess to do so but it's kinda new for me to use the new name ) Sooo I thinl they should include it in the appointment notice text! special for dummies lol
