  • can I submit a COPY of notarized translation of birth certificate

for the i-485 can you submit a copy of the notarized translation of the birth certificate?

we provided the original birth certificate to a translation company and got a notarized translation done

when submitting the i-485 are we supposed to submit the original of the notarized translation? in that case all we will have for the in person interview is the original birth certificate that's not translated unless we get another translation done.

or should we make a copy of the notarized translation to submit with the i-485 so that we can bring the original notarized translation to the interview in person?

You need to submit the notarized translation. If you need translation services, I can recommend you Keego, they are a certified document translation company I used to translate my birth certificate and marriage papers. Good luck!

When submitting your I-485 package, all civil documents can be photocopies. The translation should have have been annotated by the translator and the translator's signature notarized, to meet U.S. immigration requirements, but your I-485 package can include a photocopy of that translation form. When you interview, you take the original notarized translation.

You can get all the documents photo copied and submit them. And keep the original copies with you for future reference. Just keep in mind that all the documents you are submitting are loyal and the translated documents does not contain any mistake in it. Even a small error in the document can reject you application and create unwanted issues. just go for certified translators for translating these kind of sensitive documents.
