Hi everyone,
My wife and I had our GC interview back in Nov. Everything went well and we got a verbal approval from the officer.
However, there was an issue with my previous J1 visa. The company I was working for did not specify on my ds-2019 that I did not have to return home to fulfil the 2 year foreign residency rule.
I am in fact from the UK (not on the essential skills list) and my program was not government funded - these are the two criteria specified by USCIS - therefore I am not subject to the 2 year rule.
It has been 30 days since we had our interview and we have not received our card (despite the officer telling us it would be with us in 2-3 weeks) and the online status still shows us scheduled for our interview back in November.
So my question is this, do you think USCIS are hung up about the 2 year residency rule, and will they sort this our themselves? Do you think this is even a problem?
Any input would be really appreciated as my wife and I are stressing tons about it :-(
Very best to you all!
