  • PR Status Approved. Leaving US without greencard in hand

    Hi

    I485 adjustment of status.

My greencard was approved but I haven't got green card in hand yet. Can I leave US with my country passport and come back within a month without any problem ?

Don't leave unless you have an Advance Parole or Green Card to reenter the U.S.

But if you have an I-551 annotation in your passport (from entry to the U.S. with an immigrant visa), that allows you to reenter the U.S. without a Green Card.

As this is the case of adjustment of status instead of consular processing, I haven't got annotation on passport. Is it possible for me to goto USCIS taking an infopass and have it stamped on my passport before getting greencard in hand ?

If you did a US-based Adjustment procedure, you will not be allowed to reenter unless you have an Advance Parole (which should have been applied for with form I-131 at the same time, or after, you submitted the I-485).

If your Advance Parole has not been issued yet, an INFOPASS appointment won't get you permission to reenter the U.S.
