A long waiting line
Yes, there is a greencard quota each year for Eb1-EB5. You have to wait till your priority date becomes current to receive decision from USCIS.
If your I-485 has been pending for more than 180 days, you can take advantage of AC21 to change your employer.
You can answer RFE by yourself. However, if you have an attorney represents your case now, it is likely the RFE notice will be mailed to the attorney instead.
Rejection of 485 is complicated, could be because of background check, applicant's medical report, period of illegal presence in US or employment qualification etc.

485 processing date
Thank you for your reply. What is the peroid of the quota, I mean when are new GC 's allocated, is it the end of the year? How do I find which is my prioroty date. My I 140 was applied on 10/28/04, right now the uscis date for I 485 processing is dec 1 2004. What is AC21 ? MY company attorney is representing my case. One of my friends got a RFE in 485 to present company taxes,
showing weather comany is in profit or loss as company financial is related to your salary amount specified in the labor. In such cases what should a person do who has left the company.

Use of the uscis website
I understand , it explains why my 485 is still not approved. But if priority date of your labour application decides when your 485 will be approved then what is the use of the uscis website
where the I-485 date is mentioned to be much different than the priority date.It is guided by the date when your 485 was received.

In order to for I-485 to be approved, both of the following conditions need to be true:
* Your priority date must be current
* You must have filed your I-485 before the date shown in that link that you posted above.Immihelp Support

Priority date
Thanks for the reply, but this still do not clarify things. The Priority date for I-485 in employment based skilled Workers is 01JAN99 in the 3rd category as per http://www.immihelp.com/greencard/vi...letin.jsp.Mine was done in Mar 2000.But I know many who have applied in 2001 and have got it 1 yr earlier. How is this possible? Also does it mean that I will have to wait another year to get my GC?

That is because priority date keep changing. They were current just 2-3 months back.
You just need to wait until both the conditions I mentioned earlier are true.Immihelp Support

I-485 file date is June 23, 2005 and the processing dates at TSC show June 27, 2005. I already have my bio-metrics done and have already responded to an RFE in July 2005.
The priority date on the Jan bulletin shows July 03 for EB1. I guess, I need to watch this date to become current. Am I right in my reading this status?
Also, what's the deal with the Targeted Areas of Employment/Regional Centers?
thanks
