  • Anyone filed using lawyer - question here

Hi all - I am getting ready to file my green card application through my USC spouse. I want to get things right and was thinking of going through a lawyer. My question is: if the lawyer files your GC application including form G-28 Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney, WHO will be receiving the subsequent notices from USCIS (i.e., receipt of the application, fingerprinting, EAD card, and interview). Will USCIS send those to the lawyer or directly to the applicant (myself)?

My concern is if my lawyer gets all the documents, I have to rely on them to forward all the information timely for the next 6-9 months ... so just wanted to be aware ahead of time.

    Thanks for your input!

USCIS will send 2 copies..... one will go to your attorney and one will go to the address you use on your application. I use an attorney and so far I get a copy 2 days after my attorney receive a copy. My attorney is very efficient so they call me to let me know. Good luck!
