  • How does the 30/60/90 rule apply on a b2 marrying a US citizen

After a two year relationship my boyfriend and I started talking about marriage and I went ahead and asked at the embassy in Mexico which would be the best way to get married with my boyfriend (us citizen) and they told me to file the k1 visa, but since we didn't had enough money and I already had a B2 visa, I asked if there would be any problem if I flew to US to meet him and get married and he told me to at least live with him one or two months and then get married. We didn't knew about the 30/60 rule and we thought, why wait so long? So we went ahead and got married 7 days after I got to the US we have been living together ever since, saving to file my papers for adjustment of status (I haven't worked except being a volunteer at a non profit organization). 4 months later we are gathering all the paperwork and we have saved enough money to file my papers for obtaining the green card so we can keep living together. It's until now that I am preparing my checklist of documents to send to USCIS, that I found the 30/60 rule and I don't know what to do. I wanted to avoid using an immigration lawyer to file my papers, but now that I know we broke the 30/60 rule I am thinking that they are going to reject my green card petition and ban me to reenter the US. We can always live in my country, but I know it will be so complicated for him. Does anyone can give me advice about this? What's going to happen if I file the petition myself?
