I485, possible change of jobs, with same employer

I have an EAD that came in Oct 2014, i485 was filed on July 21st 2014 (so just about completed 180 days) and have a situation with a potential change in jobs within the same IT organization of the company. My priority date is Nov 2007. Will this be a problem? The job change can be of an individual contributor (I am a Tech Manager now) OR a Tech Manager. Will it be an issue if the role is of an IC? Is an AC21 mandatory even if the employer is the same??
