  • Changing from my old address to my current address on driver license after 2.5 month

Changing from my old address to my current address on driver license after 2.5 months of marriage will cause some negative effects on my GC interview? It's my problem now. To be honest, i asked my lawyer about this problem but he said it's was fine because some people still keep their old address so that's why i didn't do so. But these days, i have ever read some topics, all of which showed that one of the most important proofs is the couple have to has the same address on theirs driver license (IO will check it). I'm kind of worried and immediately made an appointment with DMV on January 29th to change my address. However, it is unlikely DMV will provide me the new one, just a certificate which identifies my current address and i must carry it with my DL.
    Help me, please Thanks

Having the correct address on your license is VERY important and is a plus to your status at your interview. What I would advise you to do before you go the Driver's Division, is to make a copy of the license with old address, so you will have a before and after, if IO ask for any proof.

I know about this important proof! But what should i answer if IO asks me why i didn't change from the old address (before marriage) to current address ( after marriage) as soon as we lived together OR why did you do it after 2.5 months?

"make a copy of the license with old address, so you will have a before and after" -
        According to DMV California
How to notify DMV when I change my address

Law states that you must notify DMV within 10 days of changing your address. There is no charge to change your address, and you may notify DMV by any of the following ways:

1/Complete your change of address online.
2/Call any DMV office at 1-800-777-0133 and request that a change of address form be mailed to you. It will take 5 days for you to receive the form. Complete the information required on the form, then mail it to the address listed at the top of the form.
3/Download the Change of Address (DMV 14), complete the information, and mail it to the address listed at the top of the form.
4/Visit any DMV office, complete a change of address form, and give it to a representative. The representative will give you a Change of Address Certificate card (DL 43) to complete and carry with your license.
If you do 2 or 3 above, type or write in ink your new address on a small piece of paper, sign and date it. Carry this piece of paper with your license. Do not tape or staple the change of address information to your driver license.
Because i will choose option 4, so i think they won't give me the new one, just my old driver license + certificate which proves my current address
